Did you watch The Borgias? [poll]

The show was canceled early! Did you watch The Borgias?

Did you watch The Borgias?

I think my favorite things about The Borgias tv show was the fashions and amazing hair styles. I love the historical fashion inspiration board on Pinterest that @TheBorgias_SHO made. Check them out if you haven't yet.

Not that everyone could possibly pull it off (let's face it you needs lots of locks) but here is a fun hair tutorial on how to get the 'look'

I guess it was a matter of time (or a few days) before someone made an online petition to get the show back. Not sure what will come of it but hey, why not! I have enjoyed the 3 seasons so far. Have you seen it? I wonder what is next for fabulous historical tv shows!

  1. I love The Borgias, but I am in dire need of catching up. At least I have them DVR'd. Nothing like a little Jeremy Irons to brighten up your day (I admit it, I love Jeremy Irons.)

Okay, I happen to have a huge crush on the guy who plays Cesare too. He's cute. <3

I also love Siobhan (whose video you linked to.) She's a friend of mine. :)

  2. Yes! And I'm so upset it's being cancelled. :( :( :(

I never really got into Game of Thrones and I'm going to miss all of Lucrezia's hairstyles/fashion sorely.

  3. I know. EXTREME SADNESS.

I guess the whole "we'll take the rumors of Lucrezia/Cesare incest thing and make it "real"" thing didn't quite vibe. I mean, if it bleeds it leads, but I guess there has to be some lines even on premium television? The thing is I saw it as Jordan doing it for controversy and making people think, "Is it doing it to make it canon in the show or to show the public's opinion in The Borgias?" That was something real back then and I think it was only recently those two were cleared of the accusation. (My history of the Borgias is rather fuzzy.)

I'm going to miss Lucrezia and Gulia fashions/hairstyles. I love both of them.

And Cesare and the fact Francois Arnaud (and his derriere) looks fabulous in a pair of leather pants.

I need to go cry now. No more fabulous men in leather pants, flouncy dresses, popes whapping their sons over the head and pretty hair. It's tragic.

  4. @Katie I agree with you on every point! And how cool you know Siobhan, I only recently discovered her videos and just love them! :)
My history of The Borgias is fuzzy too, but I found I was always looking up the histories after watching the show, so I was learning as I went along! /passes tissues

@Karen No time like the present to catch up with Game of Thrones esp now that The Borgias wont be on Sundays :( Which leaves me to wonder what the next awesome show to watch will be! Did you watch Rome?

  5. @Lauren, I know Siobhan through YT and Facebook actually! I've never met her in person (it would be fun if I did though. I'm half way across the country!)

I don't have HBO, so now I'm off to find another good show on Showtime for Sundays, other than Nurse Jackie (that show is really funny. It's my House, MD substitute. I was flippin' mad when they ended that show too. CRIED horribly.)

Why does it seem like all of the period shows on Showtime don't last long? Sort of makes me mad. I love period shows and Showtime does them very well.

@Anonymous - dislike an actor or show because of someone's personal views outside the show or character? How judgemential are you. No better then them. So tired of people taking a character someone plays & holding it against them or someone taking someone's personal views & holding it against a character or show their in because it's different from theirs. We are all entitled to our beliefs & reasons for them. I loved the TV show loved the Borgias and will miss the show. How does Jeremy Irons religious / personal views remotely affect your life? If you're gay even how does his view improve or lessen your life in any way shape or form? Leonardo Di Capro played a racist slave owner & most don't hold that against him even in a year of high racial tension. It's a shame you let your own emotions get the better of you.
